10 books that will leave my pockets empty in 2017

2017 is nearly here, and with it come awesome new books! Eeeehhhh, this is so exciting! So here I am to deliver you a breathtaking list of spectacular books that are about to fill our shelves in the year to come.

By the way, sorry if this will cause your TBR pile to fall on top of you. Know that you are not alone my friend. We, bookworms, accept the fact that TBR piles are ever-growing giants that will rule over the world some day and we bow to their magnificence and power.

GILDED CAGE: Sounds a bit like the Red Queen, but very English at the same time. Actually, from the blurb it seems an historical romance with a bit of magic on the side, but I find it really interesting that it revolves around 3 different stories which will probably have great consequences on each other (I believe – this was what I deduced from the blurb). By the way, this is the first book in the series “Dark Gifts” – is that an awesome name or what?
Expected publication: January 26th 2017 by Pan Macmillan, according to Goodreads

CARAVAL: To be honest, I’m not 100% sure what this book is about, but although mysterious, the blurb sounds awesome (maybe because it is soooo mysterious). It involves a dangerous game and magic and love (obviously) and a countdown and a quest to save a sister and I’m already fully drawn into it. Besides, everyone keeps saying great things about it so I must have it!
Expected publication: January 31th 2017 by Flatiron Books, according to Goodreads

TRAVELER: Jessa represents all of us bookworms. She keeps dreaming of awesome worlds and writing down stories. Then, one day, her favourite character shows up and invites her for coffee! How amazing is this? WHY CAN’T THIS HAPPEN TO ME? I want to have coffee with a lot of characters, like A LOT. I’ll start saving time on my agenda right now! But, back to the book – she learns that she can travel through alternate realities with her book friend but she keeps dying in all of those worlds, and that is all I’ll say…
Expected publication: February 7th 2017 by Swoon Reads, according to Goodreads

LONG MAY SHE REIGN: Has anyone seen the TV show Reign? Cause this reminds me so much of it! And the synopsis makes it sound really interesting. Basically this really scientific girl who loves to work in a lab is the twenty third in line to the throne and she never expected to be queen, but ta-da! She unexpectedly rises to power and then a bunch of stuff happens and I want this book.
Expected publication: February 21st 2017 by HarperTeen, according to Goodreads

What, you want a more detailed explanation? I love pirates, what more do you want? Uff, ok, the main character is a really badass, 17-year-old girl pirate and there’s action, and pirates, and adventure, and pirates, and some magic, and pirates, and I think you got the idea by now.
Expected publication: February 28th 2017 by Feiwel & Friends, according to Goodreads

THINGS I SHOULD HAVE KNOWN: This is a story about an Autistic girl and her sister’s efforts to find her love. I really like these books that explore disabilities and I’m very interested to find out how LaZebnik developed her character.
Expected publication: March 28th 2017 by HMH Books for Young Readers, according to Goodreads

LETTERS TO THE LOST: I loved the blurb of this book. It seems to be heartbreaking and beautiful at the same time. Yes, it is a contemporary romance, featuring loss and letter-exchange. I love letters so sorry but I’m already sold.
Expected publication: April 4th 2017 by Bloomsbury USA Childrens, according to Goodreads

A COURT OF WINGS AND RUINS: If you have read my review of ACOTAR you will know that I didn’t like it (yes, I gave it 2 stars). However, a few months have passed since I read it and curiosity has been killing me, especially because of Rhysand. I’m dying to know more about him and what happens next!!!! I just need closure in this story, that’s the main issue so after I read ACOMAF and will definitely need ACOWAR!
Expected publication: May 2nd 2017 by Bloomsbury USA Childrens, according to Goodreads

FLAME IN THE MIST: This is an awesome retelling of Mulan! And there are samurais! And the cover is so beautiful! And I’m dying to have it in my possession!
Expected publication: May 16th 2017 by G.P. Putnam’s Sons Books for Young Readers, according to Goodreads

THE LAST MAGICIAN: This reminds me a lot of The Magicians TV show and the blurb sounds great because it mixes magicians in contemporary New York with time travelling and the search for an ancient book full of secrets. Eehhh – it looks amazing!
Expected publication: July 18th 2017 by Simon Pulse, according to Goodreads

So here’s my initial book list for 2017. Initial? – you might ask. Yes, initial. Did you really think I would only want 10 books this year? Pleeeeease….. This is only the base of my TBR pile :p

Have a nice year and watch your step or you may fall down the reading hole!
